Apart from the Duterte effect, I think it’s also worth looking into the impact of the pandemic in campus organizing / youth activism. I think it’s no coincidence that the weakening of student organizations went hand in hand with the relative weakening of civil society.

Messy. Institutions evolve—so should our definition of family. Same sex couples deserve the same protections. It’s not fair to recognize our love, yet make it harder to care and commit. Don’t ask us to endure things that you won’t want for yourselves.
