Still, it must be said that we were treated to yet another shambolic refereeing performance from Ray Matthews. Even managed to drag the best assistant ref in league down to his level. How can you blow for offside at one end when a player is thru on goal at other end of pitch?🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️

One of the best nights at Richmond in recent memory. Excellent performances all over the pitch and a huge shift put in by every single player. Epitomised by a fantastic block by Jamie Lennon midway thru the 2nd half to prevent a certain goal.

Somehow that was an even more embarrassing & insipid performance than Friday. 70 mins against 10 men and the performance got exactly what it deserved. Tactical awareness & substitutions were mind-blowingly poor yet again. Another performance like that on Friday and it’s game over

Hard to argue with Hamann’s assertion that, despite England being better team yet again in a big game, a great team (or any team capable of winning trophies) would have won tonight, would have won the Euro final and would have beaten Croatia in the semi in 2018. Same old story.

The refereeing in this word cup has been so poor with very few exceptions. VAR has exposed a number of them. One of the English refs looks certain to get the final at this rate.
