GPT-5 is a good product - like the iPhone 5 - a solid upgrade that offers more value to customers, but it convinced me that LLMs have lost their magic on the path toward AGI. LLMs are like the iPhone revolution: impactful, but not an existential change
OpenAI is gearing up to shock the world again. I love o3, and today they released an open-source model that's comparable to it. So, starting today, I have no reason to keep my OpenAI Plus subscription - unless GPT-5 brings some major breakthroughs this Thursday.
