2016-Moonlight Tarell A McCraney wrote “In Moonlight Black Boys Look Blue” as a school assignment and it was laid to rest until Barry Jenkins found it. With a budget of just $1.5 million dollars, Moonlight became the lowest budgeted Oscar winner for Best Picture. #filmfriday

1964- Dr. Strangelove Kubrick asked Sellers to play 4 roles in the film, but he only took on 3 since the last one was to physically demanding. Kubrick ended up using 55% of the budget on Sellers and was famously quoted saying “I got three for the price of six”. #filmfriday

Happy #FilmFriday! 1998-Steamboat Willie A landmark in animation history. The first cartoon to feature post-produced synchronized sound! In 1998, the National Film Registry decided to preserve it after deeming it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Happy #FilmFriday! Some ‘The Shining’ movie trivia for you! Did you know Stanley Kubrick refused to read Stephen King’s screenplay? Sources say he didn’t like King’s writing style. Kubrick ended up working with Diane Johnson instead because he was a fan of ‘The Shadow Knows’.
