“ I need to speak to the owner of your company” does this actually work😂?
I mainly handle our domestic ( which is small) but it’s interesting the steam ship reps are constantly visiting our office, 2 since I’ve been here. But in the domestic world we probably aren’t even a lot of brokers crm😂. Someone’s trash is another’s gold.
A lot of people commenting wild takes on this ftc nc issue have never been sued and it shows. It hits different.
Why do brokers quote using odd numbers? Never understood this, got a quote today for $606 for a local move, and gave the broker a hard time about the rate😂. At least do $605. Great broker though he won the shipment just weird to me.
I wish brokers were the only cold calls I got but between phone services, people trying to buy our company, internet, google listings, etc there is a endless amount of cold calls. Had no idea.

Don’t lie. Yesterday I sent 3 quotes to a 3 letter broker, he said their systems were down. I said isn’t there like 7 ways to quote? Then he said I forgot you were an ex broker usually we just tell customers our system is down instead of saying my internet in is slow at home.
I hate to say this, but shippers do lie. People in our office say “ we are customer routed and vendor routed”, we aren’t adding anyone for 6-9 months. We don’t do anything with trucks. Reality I’ve added 2-3 people since I’ve started. The thing is people give up too easily.
The one issue with producing consistent content, is I sometimes justifiably think wtf was I thinking saying or posting that.

What’s everyone’s policy on blocking/unfollowing? I was against it, never unfollowed or blocked anyone on LinkedIn in 18 months until today.
Got a cold call today they claimed they just were on the phone call with one of our sales rep, I call him he’s never heard of them. Then the rep tries to tell me Nevermind I didn’t talk to him😂😂
Calling a shipper and lying about doing business with one of our other employees, is not an effective way to get your foot in the door…..
I don’t know how this person got my number, but I feel bad as I am sure drivers get 10 of these a week😂
I enjoy posting on x more than LinkedIn lately. I think a lot of people don’t realize the more engagement, views you get the more hate you get as well. Takes the fun out of it.

@kidfreight @ThomasWasson7 That broker is probably thinking the same way as Thomas. My method is just an old CHR trick, mostly used on RFP's.
@kidfreight A lot of brokers, and salespeople in general, will use odd pricing as a negotiation tactic. It gives the impression that there is some sort of formula or precise calculation going on in the background, and this reduces the chances of a counter. It’s a very, very cheesy tactic.
