The much-awaited Nile River Basin (NRB) Cooperative Framework Agreement (CFA) comes into effect as of today, 13 October 2024. The CFA passed through the African Union process and now centres into force with the establishment of the Nile River Basin Commission (NRBC).

What comes next is avoiding foul cry! Both #Ethiopian Fed. gov’t & #TPLF are now burdened before the world. One might charge to finish what it deemed to be vanishing, while the other takes advantage as violation of the accord. In the middle loses Ethiopia. #PeaceShallPrevail

This week, I travelled to Amhara, Somali & Tigray regions. Recently to Afar, Oromo and SNNPR. One common point: much pain, suffering & tears. Heartbreaking grievances & victimisation. War should stop, and a Peace Process owned & led by all Ethiopians should start. #Ethiopia 🇪🇹🇪🇺

Too much was talked about GERD. It is time to think about GERD 2 in Amhara & GERD 3 in Oromia regions with electric power generation capacity of 5000MW each. I would recommend the next dams to be called African Renaissance Dam 1 & 2. If #Egypt is onboard fine otherwise move on!
