Trying to work on being a better data manager. First focus is on how to listen to my team. I hear them but do not seem to be fully listening and understanding. I am also taking in lessons from Data Science leader podcasts to learn how to make my team successful.

Junior developer spent a total of 30 hours over a month on a MVP for @neo4j and killed it for a first iteration. She acts like she’s known the language forever yet she self taught herself this past month.

Has anyone ever seen the character set change in the Calculation Editor in #Tableau? I have a teammate whose running into this issue. It's only in the Calculation Editor and prevents them from saving the calculation due to "errors"

How you are still a viable shipping company is beyond me @FedEx when you somehow ship my package from AK back to HK to TN in the course of 9 hours. The package was due in NY 3 hours ago.

This is awesome! It needs more tigers and jungles but I’m not going to argue.

Interesting puzzle. The text boxes actually have colors on each side so I started looking at resistor bands, word puzzles. Possible coordinates? Haven't even dug into the image itself for further possibilities. It'll be exciting to see when someone cracks the puzzle.

Good morning #datafam ! I was told no already, so I need one of you to dress up as a 3D Exploded Pie Chart for #Halloween. #scary

I have been researching the role of #datascience in #supplychain and I realized that my understanding of supply chain is vastly different than a lot of these articles that include manufacturing and sustainment as parts of supply chain.

This dataviz represents my brother and I moving a couch upstairs: X axis is time and Y axis is the height of the couch. The medium is my wall and it was executed with the metal corner of the sofa. My wife disagrees that this is beautiful real-life dataviz 🧐@DataRemixed thoughts?

Coming from the database side of analytics I forget the power that @tableau has and the extensibility with Python. I think it is time to revisit Tableau training and maybe get that cert I keep talking about.

Had a great chat today with a high schooler that wants to explore #DataScience. Stressed the importance of understanding #DataAnalytics as a whole. Science without focus holds no value for an enterprise.

Finally investigating #Tableau extensions. I’ve done a lot with the older APIs and there is a strong business case to develop a library of these for the enterprise. #DataAnalytics

On a management call with Mark Benioff and Adam Selipsky announcing @salesforce @tableau acquisition. Wow. As @forrester has been predicting for years the #BusinessIntelligence market is going through another round of acquisitions

All anyone is talking about is the acquisition of @tableau by @salesforce. There is so little productivity right now. My biggest concern is impact to programs outside of enterprise licensing or small businesses.

We all have that one dashboard that needs some love. This is getting sent to my team.

Finally home after a week at the #GartnerDA conference. I’m exhausted but looking forward to strategically implementing all the things I learned.
