#DixieFire 8/12/2021 - 9:30pm. Things are definitely not looking so sharp for my hometown of Westwood. This mosaic of the FLIR imagery from Dyer Mountain looks north. If tonight is her night, She went down in about the biggest blaze of glory ever. We love you, Westwood!

Working to get better intel on what is happening up County Road A-21 from Westwood. A big pyrocumulus built up over the northern part of the fire this afternoon and blew the fire across A-21 and toward WW. #DixieFire. FLIR cameras show very active and long flank N of WW @ 8:45pm.

#DixieFire (Plumas-Butte Co) - Radio traffic: the fire is down to the causeway east of #Chester, stretching all the engines out along Hwy 36, the fire is really close to crossing the highway. Moving engines into the Peninsula area for structure protection.

Extreme fire behavior on the #DixieFire is continuing into the night. Radar is recording three 30+ kft PyroCu/PyroCb clouds on the fire with the one near Chester exceeding 35 kft.

Large plume rising above the smoke that has settled in the valley. This shows that the #HogFire is still very active and the new numbers show that is has grown to 5,800 acres with 0% containment.
