The carbon tax increased to $50/tonne on Apr 1. I heat my house with natural gas. The gas is $3.69/GJ and the tax is $2.629/GJ. That's a 71.25% tax on a life saving commodity. I have no alternate way of heating my house. No other commodity is taxed at a similar rate. 1/
