Incidental finding in salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancy. I haven't got statistics, but I think I'm seeing this more often with ectopics than with sterilization salpingectomies. X2
Part of the reason I don't have statistics is that tubes with ectopics are often disrupted and orientation of the sections isn't as clear as I'd like. In this tube the finding was present in multiple well oriented cross sections.
Duplication of the fallopian tube (aka diverticulum or accessory). Each pair of pictures is from a single cross-section of tube, showing that the lumens coexist at the same level. There is a reported association with ectopic pregnancy. A recent review: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
