I wrote a new blog! Audience is anyone interested in oldskool graphics, but also all retro computers technical details lovers. I will talk about STE blitter, and also how the ATARI famous "fullscreen mode" is working. #amiga #atari #demoscene arnaud-carre.github.io/2024-09-08-4kt…
@leonard_coder great post, waiting for the next part :) any chance to see the generator source code? I always thought it should be possible, but never came around to try it myself. do you know how many percent of the fullscreens really used an generator and how many counted manually the cycles?
@leonard_coder Thanks for the write-up. Do you bounding box clip the N-1 offscreen mask blits to further reduce the number needed? Seems like it would only need them all if the pattern is bunched up close.
@leonard_coder So cool! I wish you to write about sync scroller. I understood the basics of using the fullscreen trick to shift a horizontal line but never understood how to use that to implement a full horizontal scroller :D
@leonard_coder @amstariga quelque chose qui peut intéresser l'ami Zisquier.
