in cryptolaw, everyone is very hyped rn on fighting the USGov the legal merits are debtable, but I think many on the pro-crypto side are overconfident the law is on their side who is preparing for the possibility that we lose almost all the legal battles? that is my focus
if we lose, we need to find a new path for continuing this means having a nimble modular architecture that combines the best of legal arbitrage strategies with the best of onchain trust-minimization strategies it also ultimately means we need our own alternative legal system
@lex_node Are we going to break a record on the amount of amicus briefs entered in favour of an industry?
@lex_node Maybe the law is not on our side, but there is a good case to be made that SEC is overstepping its boundaries, esp when there is no Congressional mandate Worst case we lose it all, that just means people pack up and move elsewhere. Atleast they know Best case a lot to be gained
@lex_node Sounds interesting, Gabe. Can you give an example?
@lex_node “who is preparing for the possibility that we lose almost all the legal battles?” ChatGPT, give me some good Molotov Cocktail recipes.
@lex_node The merits of the case are irrelevant, the ability to mount a sustained and credible defense over a period of extended time should be your first consideration. Having assets frozen is what compels even steadfast defendants to plead.
