@Annemarieward Like all addiction illnesses, the impact travels like ripples on a pond, all consuming for those involved. Creating obstacles policy/mentality went out with the ARK, merely moving deckchairs, not solving problems, it's Govt on the cheap, doing things properly takes effort & time!

@Annemarieward 12 years sober. Ow I was lucky to get into rehab. That’s where the extra cash should have been spent. Alcoholics will do anything to get drink they can’t help it and though they may want to stop they don’t know how.

@Annemarieward I said it at the time it was going to hit people who are alcohol dependent hard. They will drink no matter what so this means going without other essentials such as food and gas/electricity.

@Annemarieward I am absolutely sure if the powers that be actually asked alcoholics or recovering alcoholics if increasing the price of alcohol would help or assist in any way to stop their dependency the answer would always be No. I agree increasing cost adds massively to the problem

@Annemarieward Reducing the amount of alcohol consumed is beneficial particularly in the communities that have low to moderate consumption, as these make up the majority of the population. Fixing hard drinkers needs a lot more investment as does all addiction.
