Is there an amount of scale that Ethereum could provide that would convince projects like @tempo to build on top of mainnet instead of adjacent? My intuition says no, since there is a lot of value in owning the stack. But I want to hear the other takes.

Client diversity is awesome! A bug can happen to any client at anytime. Of course we do everything to avoid it, but the probability will be non-zero as long as the protocol continues to evolve.

We drop pre-merge history, which saves ~320 GB on the Ethereum node. With live historical pruning, you no longer need to resync the node to achieve this. Dropping post-merge history is next. There’s still around 500 GB of history on your node.

Bloatnet is the most exciting effort I've seen in Ethereum this year. Core development is still too often driven by "gut feeling". Blowing up the stat and seeing what breaks, we know what is coming and we can take informed decisions.
