Just as I started feeling homesick/burned out, my patient reaffirmed me by telling me I'm in the right career. Let me keep going and get this degree!
These away rotations have been amazing but I'm ready to go home 😭 I miss my cat and my bed
One of the other students I'm rotating with correctly clocked the limp I'm walking with (due to the overzealous 45 min walk I took before my trauma shift the day before) AND gave me advice on how to stretch my quads. Shout out to our DO colleages!

In case y’all didn’t know, Black Pittsburgh men were the first EMTs in this country. They organized a first response system and transport for Black communities that segregated hospitals refused to treat. Their ingenuity became the nationwide model for ambulance services.
