It is absolutely mind-boggling how many entrepreneurs are infatuated with the idea of “replace your sales team with AI” or “replace your marketing team with AI”. Isn’t this the stuff you’re supposed to ENJOY doing as an entrepreneur? Making money? I saw an article the other day from when ChatGPT first came out in November 2022 about how AI was now going to do all the boring, menial tasks so that humans could think bigger and more creatively. But now it seems like everyone is trying to delegate the bigger, creative thinking to AI so that they (the human) can do the boring, menial tasks. This would be the equivalent of a marketing CEO hiring a CMO so that the CEO can go clean the toilets in the office. Makes zero sense. AI does not change the fact that leverage in business is built by pulling yourself OUT of tasks you dislike doing/aren’t uniquely positioned to solve, and getting you back to your “zone of genius”. Unfortunately nowadays many entrepreneurs' “zone of genius” seems to be doing and creating absolutely nothing, or at best, shiny object chasing. So yes, if there are menial, boring tasks that you or your sales/marketing teams have to do, an AI absolutely should do them. The goal of ANY new technological advancement should be to enable you and your best performing employees to ONLY do the most impactful, highest leverage tasks. eg. Every minute your top salesperson is NOT on the phone closing someone, is a waste of their day. eg. Every minute your top copywriter is NOT ideating and brainstorming new angles, is a waste of their day. Ask yourself or your team what annoying stuff you all have to do every single day and I can almost guarantee most of it could be automated or replaced in some way with AI. This is a far better use of time than trying to figure out ways for AI to magically “make money” (it doesn’t do that and never will).
@lucasleetyson Plot twist: AI decides to start its own business and hires humans to do all the boring tasks 🤖💼
