One of my (non-gamedev) production APIs broke today out of nowhere, running on @flydotio and failing to connect to cockroachdb Moved app to @Railway and it Just Works™️, including db connection (so problem w/ Fly) 7~12MB RAM usage ✨ Stack: @CrystalLanguage + @luckyframework

I am implementing the SCALE codec (github.com/paritytech/par…) in Crystal. However, it must have a fast Base58 shard, and existing ones are slow (best case around 20%-25% of my impl). Benchmarks on my base58 have it basically at parity with Rust's fastest impl, bs58.

Released 1.5 of github.com/confact/stripe… - Failing CI due to breaking dependencies (not updated for over a year do that). So version 1.6 of Stripe Crystal will only support Crystal >=1.5.0 to solve that.
