Completely agree and hope @AddysgEducation will take note of this, consider the evidence and evaluate the current position for the benefit of all children. Teachers and leaders cannot work any harder but the opaqueness of the curriculum is providing a straight jacket to success.

@lucy_crehan Good points, well made. I truly believe that the WG’s new aims were all possible under the previous curriculum and it should have remained in place with a shift of culture in the first instance, retaining the core progression in subject disciplines whilst innovating around it.

Today I Learned: when you finish something and proclaim "ta-dah!" this sound _apparently_ comes from Jewish comedians who would finish their set with the Hebrew word for thank you, "todah", and this caught on more generally.

On building a knowledge-based #curriculum badly. Watch out for this sort of thing @lucy_crehan #cymru @EricaStanfordMP #aotearoanewzealand. England's curriculum was rushed, many gotchyas like this. A well designed knowledge-based curriculum has to mean a coherent web of knowledge
@BobMChem @adamboxer1 The government, in their wisdom, wrote this in their GCSE programmes of study. It's the only place ores are mentioned in the entire science curriculum. This is what happens when DfE rush a "knowledge-based" curriculum because they want to be seen to be doing something important.
Completely agree and hope @AddysgEducation will take note of this, consider the evidence and evaluate the current position for the benefit of all children. Teachers and leaders cannot work any harder but the opaqueness of the curriculum is providing a straight jacket to success.

@lucy_crehan @terrymac51 @ceritheviking To add to that- I've been banging on for a long time that Wales is missing a cohesive set of textbooks to assist teachers- in particular for WM at KS3+. If we want to get to 1M Welsh speakers then learners, parents, and teachers need support.
