4/4 The language used as the narrative also problematic. The use of generic "he' and "man' for any human was thru-out & when discussing mating, women were referred to as the wife. Even the title "Lady Sapiens" is not good. This is a disappointing doc.

3/4but that seems to be it. It also ignores the fact that AMHs (NOT Cro- Magnon!) came to Europe from Africa but there were humans already there - Neanderthals - who are the only native European humans & occupied Europe 1000s of years B4 the interlopers came.

2/4: Males are the ones shown carrying spears & women are carrying babies. Male children are seen active running around the camp & girls close to mother & sedentary. Camps are quiet & female. Hunting groups mostly male. There is the recurring image of a blue eyed warrior woman

Friend recommended TVO doc. that 'sheds a new light' on lives of ancient women (Homo erectus). Watched it last nite & it's not well-done.This doc. supposedly reveals new info. about ancient females - yet the depictions are riddled w/stereotypes. 1/3 posts

In meeting last night: Thought of the day about being vigilant women to celebrate Women's History month. Critique (by white male). Remember we are a coed club. All genders matter.

In old days so many grndprnts died at end of semester. Now because we are all online - all students have to say is I had a family situation. & I need an extension. I'm tired of excuses that cannot be challenged or even verified. No matter what I do - I am the bad guy.

Oh the wonder of being mansplained in a public forum. He basically said exactly what I said only with more words. He even prefaced the post with 'as an expert in ...." implying that I was not.

Found out I am no longer on a univ. committee-one that I loved being part of & Im proud of the work we did. This made me sad. No explanation. Discovered by accident. #academiclife

My traumatic experiences with sadistic nuns growing up is nothing compared to what children experienced in residential schools. I still feel the pain of the nun's brutality and racism. The Catholic Church must apologize and actively move to do better.
