While making Diablo 2, we used to say “balance is overrated.” Diablo was fun because of all the unbalanced crap you could pull off. Diablo 4 should not try to overbalance everything to spreadsheet accuracy. It’s not that type of game, and just results in clinical sterility.

@Ladybug028 @CNBCMakeIt Keeping a wage floor that low means you can offer less for skilled work, all other wages get defined against minimum wage, e.g. an entry level office job usually pays $3-4 more than MW. If you raise MW, all other jobs have to go up or employees leave for "easier" jobs at same pay

@Ladybug028 @CNBCMakeIt It used to be, a long time ago. Then it got redefined by special interests as "what kids should earn at an after-school job" despite most workers earning it being adults, so that politicians could scoff at ever raising it. By never raising it, it allows ALL other jobs to pay low.
