Campaign in LDN which is similarly calling for a ‘Redesign’. Developers should have to consider the huge wealth of mature trees, to our eyes but also and especially in city environments for giving #oxygen, and include them in their developments of new sites #airpollution #bristol

Mature trees = lots of oxygen. Councils and property developers should not be cutting down trees in this time of #ecological #crisis. This particular area in #bristol has illegal levels of pollution. We need to breathe. #airpollution

Not just in Cardiff, @steviedubyu . Local authorities are falling over backwards to help developers remove trees everywhere. @BristolTreeFora just wants Bristol City Council to implement its existing green infrastructure planning policies.

Reflecting on the number of housing #developments in such a small area, remember it will take 50 years for a new #tree to offset the same amount of #carbon that a mature tree does. Planting saplings is not good enough - leave the trees alone, we need to breathe now. #AirPollution

In these troubling times the health benefits of trees for lung cleansing and prevention of asthma cannot be over estimated. We need to build up our immune systems, rather than run them down by destroying the healing properties of the natural world. BRISTOL NEEDS TREES.

We are occupying the trees in anticipation that the property developer will try and chop the trees down this weekend. Construction went on till midnight Friday night. We will be here 24/7 guarding these beautiful, vital mature trees #community #activism #savethem32maples
