In 25 years of teaching, I have never seen such a rapid & fundamental change in the way children are thinking, behaving & interacting. I thought it was Covid but I now think it's the digital age they're growing up in & I really hope people cleverer than me are looking in to this.

I’ve been through many governments I have liked and disliked. The last six years of this Tory government have been the worst in my lifetime. No big ideas, no moral core, cronyism, self-interested groups arguing with each other. A complete shambles.

Sunak talks of mob rule rather than democratic rule. Have you seen how much GB news is paying some Tory MPs for second jobs? Mates huge rates for Covid equipment? They are an undemocratic mob themselves.

I’m not saying teaching is unimportant. That would be idiotic. It’s one of the most important factors that affect learning. What I am saying is that a teacher who looks good is not sufficient evidence that learning is happening. From my new Substack: Looking for Learning.
