GitHub has gotten so bad it's probably +EV to start a competitor. The switching cost for git remote operations is almost nonexistent. The API / CLI / Actions also drop in replaceable. Devs / OSS won't switch but high performing teams bottlenecked by latency + reliability might.

My mentor, an OG Silicon Valley chip designer, told me his mentor (!) told him to keep a lab notebook and write in it every day about what he worked on. He did this for decades and kept all of them. If you're new here, physical lab notebooks are Lindy — just don't tell Elon 😉.

What VCs and founders haven't realized is "X for Y" is actually a recursive algebraic operator. The operator is associative, e.g. (Cursor for Scale AI) for robotics = Cursor for (Scale AI for robotics), but not commutative e.g. Scale AI for Cursor for robotics is different.
