We’re back! The team’s been busy passing our qualifying exams, running off on research trips, and finishing up classes. But with all that wrapped up, stay tuned for some exciting progress updates!

Next week, it's the annual @apsdpp (American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics) conference! Most of the team will be traveling to present our research at this conference, so stay tuned for some upcoming PhD research spotlight posts!

What better way to start finalizing our designs than by having a team CAD night? Together we made some good progress on our vacuum chamber, bitter plate magnets, and support structure models. Cookies n’ CAD with friends makes for a surprisingly enjoyable evening! 🍪

We've been busy in the lab this week testing magnets! 🧲 John, Jacob, and Thomas used a teslameter to determine the strength of the magnetic field from this toroidal field magnet at various driving currents. We'll use this magnet to help confine the plasma in Altator.
