A Burger King turns into 318 homes in DC. (2011➡️2019)
@mnolangray San Francisco would still be debating the historical merits of that Burger King.
@mnolangray i'll never forget going into that BK once about 15 minutes after it was robbed and the guy behind the counter was still taking orders like it was no big deal. that part of town was BAD for a while.
@mnolangray Transformation level: 10/10 #stanfordurbstud148
@mnolangray Gentrification knows no limits. They destroyed this important historic building.
@mnolangray Riding Amtrak / MARC by there is starting to make DC feel European.
@mnolangray Yeah but it could have been 318 AND a Burger King,
@mnolangray @policyfailure (and gals)
@mnolangray We did one of these a few years ago (2013/2018). Film buffs will recognize that BK as the spot where Jeremy Renner’s character bites the dust in The Town.
@mnolangray There’s people in Chicago still whining about the Dunkin’ Donuts that got torn down.
@mnolangray And just where are the people who live in those 318 homes going to get their Whoppers, Mr. Gray? They live in a Whopper desert now. Tell me what they're going to do about that!
@mnolangray But how many of those homes are affordable or subsidized for DC residents?
@mnolangray "Land for working class"
@mnolangray "Land for working class"
@mnolangray @OmariJHardy I’m at the Burger King, I’m at the 318 Homes in DC. I’m at the combination Burger King and 318 Homes in DC
@mnolangray There's definitely room for commercial leasing in the lobby of that building and they should have added it.
@mnolangray @bread_fixer This thread is filled with so many shit-stains somehow managing to complain that 318 apartments were built where a Burger King stood. Virtually all of them are under the delusion that they’re standing up for the little guy.
@mnolangray Have you answered the “How many were affordable?” question through? 🤔
@mnolangray The most beautiful thing I've seen today💗
@mnolangray So cool!! I live up the street and our new landlords are trying to force the entire residential block to move out so they can build new condos with high fences 😁
@mnolangray @colinmort This is the future Dave Thomas Circle haters want. #SaveThomasCircle
@mnolangray The first picture has the quality of a park. It’s funny bc no one want to develop a park. Every BK is like this.
