A picture that for my community and fair minded Ontarions represents a dark day. A Muslim woman legislator being told to leave for wearing a kefayeh while a young Muslim woman page looks on. @MPPArnottWHH you are actively living your “Barbaric Cultural Practices” moment on repeat. Your legacy will not be forgotten. #onpoli

@mohamadfakih8 @MPPArnottWHH It's a peaceful "cultural" symbol, right? 🤡
@mohamadfakih8 @MPPArnottWHH That's an extreme characterization of events! We have rules Mohamad! She's free to either participate or, leave. Nothing barbaric about that.
@mohamadfakih8 @MPPArnottWHH Was she wearing it prior to Oct 7?
@mohamadfakih8 @MPPArnottWHH Well said. This is a dark day indeed.
@mohamadfakih8 @MPPArnottWHH You know better. There was not one Keffiyeh in the legislature before Oct 7. This is a political disruption to further the goals of Gaza and to threaten non Muslim Canadians. She is wearing a lot of cultural gear already.
@mohamadfakih8 @MPPArnottWHH A historical reminder that Yasser Arafat always wore the keffiyeh through all negotiations with the Prime Ministers of Israel. In 1994 Yasser Arafat accepted the Nobel Peace Prize wearing the keffiyeh. Here it’s not acceptable?
@mohamadfakih8 @MPPArnottWHH Not one keffiyeh was seen in public in Ontario before 7 October. This is an outright effort to disrupt the legislature. How do we know? It is disrupting the legislature. You will agree that a Russian hat or Ukrainian shirt should not be allowed or any Israeli cultural items.
