something to ponder: 1) what are you pursuing because of what it’ll say about you when you get it (metaphysical desire)? 2) what are you pursuing because of the experience it will offer (physical desire)? think big—romantic partners, careers, products, homes, cars, awards, etc

My old professor’s advice for those in their 20s: “ten years from now, you need to be able to say that this is the life you chose, not one you settled for.” A future that is created intentionally is more pleasant than one that is scrapped together by avoidance-driven choices.
