I can't believe the amount of times I see requests in my book groups for literal Mary Sues. Being in the trad pub YA world for so long gave me a visceral reaction to this character type, but they're actually a really popular request outside of that community!

I hate adults that are like, 'I spend all my money on special edition books tee hee I'm so broke/in debt!' Seriously I know one person who is $20k in debt because of books. BOOKS. While they are wonderful they are not THAT important! Have some shelf control.

Books have always been a major part of my life. My parents read to me every night, and once I could read for myself, I never stopped (except for 6 months after completing a literarure degree).

I felt the same way adopting my first kitten. They just let me, a person in my mid-twenties, walk out with a kitten WITHOUT interrogating me, scouring my financials, providing proof of address, and without me needing to convince anyone I could, in fact, be responsible.

I don't understand people who only have 100 books on their bookshelves. How do you decide what to buy? Do you read ebook and library versions first then only buy physical copies of books you really love? Huh. Maybe I should do that.
