This past week we have had caregivers reading “Sinthu’s Thai Pongal” to our classes as well as Grade 7/8 students who read in Tamil & English. Such an important celebration for our students and their families @YRDSB
This "100 Positive Phone Calls" challenge is a hit among students and teachers, says AP @MHawley_3: "Staff write down a brief summary of the positive call so that others can find that student to celebrate them too! When we reach 100, we have a staff celebration."
Nov 20-24 was Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week. We challenged our students to continue to learn about what bullying looks like & how we can be an ally. Dec 1st we had a gallery walk learning from other classes about how we can create a safe & inclusive space for all @YRDSB

I had the opportunity to visit the Ellen Fairclough Public School at their event Making Pongal Live, and enjoyed it thoroughly. We must make a continuous effort to involve the youth in everything we celebrate. Many blessings to everyone.
