The day before Christmas break, student did an amazing job with a directed drawing and watercolor painting project. We were all really happy with the finished products! I love the individuality of each snowman! ☃️ I want to thank @MsYoungs_Class for opening my eyes to.....
Friday was our 100th day of school and room 16 had some AWESOME parent volunteers come in to help with running a few 100th day centers! We were pretty busy so I didn’t get many photos, however, here is one with a fabulous parent volunteer and the 100 cup tower they made!
On Tuesday, students worked with a partner to measure crooked paths (with 3 or 4 segments) using nonstandard units of measurement. Each partnership had 6 min to measure each segment, write down matching number models, and find the sums of three and four digit addition problems!
One of my (personal) professional goals is to get better at sharing more of the meaningful learning activities that we do throughout our week in room 16! This past week in room 16...
Today, students in room 16 did an excellent job peer revising their work. The pairs used a checklist to check over each other’s work and provide positive feedback and suggestions on how to improve their how-to writing pieces! #MPSlearns
Each student was either the writer, thinker, or presenter. I was pleasantly surprised with their ability to complete this activity with such success and independence!
This has been a week full of successful collaborative learning activities in room 16. On Monday, the students did an excellent job working together to summarize (using words or pictures) The Little Mouse, The Hungry Bear, and the Red Ripe Strawberry using the SWBST strategy....
Inspired by our EDM Unit 4 investigations of measurement, these friends spent their indoor recess & earned free time to measure the length of our classroom! The students counted by 10's to discover that our classroom is 556 unifix cubes long! #inspired#MPSLearns#memorialschool
