for once we have a kid in a horror movie who isn’t creepy or annoying as shit, has good acting, is super smart, and everyone feels maternal instinct for. his part of the story carried the movie. #weapons #weaponsmovie

@mst3ktwt I just watched it and I just kept shaking my head with the thought of what he's thinking as he's going through this daily trauma in his own home. My heart broke for him.

@mst3ktwt Not only that, but his intellect wasn't shown through him randomly spouting the answer to 9375030×323 but rather his actions. Like when he stole all the kids name tags from the cubbies and the way he watched his Aunt earlier in the movie

@mst3ktwt Cary Christopher as Alex in Weapons reminded me of Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense, a smart and sensitive kid who uses his empathy for others to solve a problem. The other kids in his class were mostly annoying bullies but they kind of got what they deserved.

@mst3ktwt He was such a good actor. Probably the biggest stand out in an otherwise very well acted and well cast movie. That's saying something.

@mst3ktwt The relationship between him and his dad broke my heart. Genuinely seemed like a wonderful father and was the only one who understood Alex - but it seems like he (and Alex's mom) will forever be catatonic.

@mst3ktwt my heart hurt for him 😭 you could see the fear and powerlessness he felt, subtle gestures and very little lines of dialogue but his eyes did all the work imo the best child acting I've seen in a while

@mst3ktwt I hated how this movie named weapons and only the cop fuckin had one..I was really hoping lil dude blew his aunt head off w his dads gun. Justine home alone after the situation w no gun as well..this was in America, ppl protect their home and kids here.
