In the early days of X/PayPal, fraud was their biggest problem and they built out tools for anomaly detection which eventually led to Palantir. It’s ironic that 20 years later, the reincarnation of X (via twitter) does such a bad job of anomaly (bot account) detection

@nathanbarrydev Interesting. They made great strides with the pay to be verified thing. I think the long term solution there is to make it harder and harder to use this app without paying. Then bot farming becomes unscalable. That blue check mark is like your stamp of digital citizenship.
