Happy #MayDay everyone. As May Day tradition dictates, we've just been up Brinkie's Brae washing our face in the morning dew to ensure good luck and beauty in the coming year. At least we hope it was dew. *washes off dew*
@natlibscotmaps @LogDateTime Indeed - I have helped so many people find alternatives to a boring afternoon at work by sending them there to browse. It just continues to get better
@natlibscotmaps Oh, that’s incredibly useful. 🤔💭Maybe I’ll combine that with the @canva interactive whiteboard feature to create an online place to capture my research notes… My own 100 Acre Wood. 🌳 Complete with Rabbit holes. 🕳️ 🐇
#WhyArchives No two days are the same. One minute you are helping an academic research the jute industry, then you are locating plans of the Tay Bridge landfall and then tracking down the identity of their father's war time sweetheart. And that's just answering emails! #Archive30
End of #Archive30?! Haven't had time to do much this year...not sure what to post. Oh well, may as well just retweet this then. #WhyArchives
#WhyArchives? Choose life, choose a job, choose deeds, choose maps, choose photos, tapes, videos, DVDs, choose cataloguing, conservation, tours, talks, exhibitions, media, choose insights into past lives, choose doing #Archive30 during lockdown. Choose archives.

By far our most popular items are 2nd edition OS maps 1907/1908 which are a great place to start when researching property history. Here is Prendergast – we are on the site occupied by the school. #PopularItem #Archive30 #MapMonday
🌷 Is there a more beautiful staircase than this 😍 🌷 The iconic Tulip Stairs are one of the original features of the Queen's House in Greenwich. It's the first geometric self-supporting spiral staircase in Britain.
Happy #MapMonday! 🗺️Can you identify the location of this 1922 photographic survey map?🔎 Better yet, who can reply to this post with photos they have taken in this area?
