It’s ironic that the thing that will bring you happiness is giving up the search for happiness.
@naval The paradox of happiness. The more you search for happiness, the more happiness stays away from you.
@naval If you're not happy with what you have now, you'll never be.
@naval Which is EXACTLY why I’m working with students to LOVE the ability to find and solve problems- also known as entrepreneurship.
More ironically, it takes being on that search for happiness, believing it to be in the things you thought it might be in, finding that not the case, having that desire extinguished, maybe a bit of an existential crisis and finally realizing that it was part of us all along. Without that journey, it remains a quote on Twitter and not truly experiential, although so true
@naval Nothing's more annoying than the inverse law of the universe. If this doesn't prove that the universe has a dark sense of humour, nothing does
@naval By releasing the relentless pursuit of happiness, we open ourselves to the joy that naturally arises from living fully in the present moment. It's in this space of surrender that true contentment flourishes, turning the quest inward to find what has been there all along.
@naval Because trying is the challenge that proves you wrong about your unhealthy misconceptions.
"I live for that aha moment when you connect two things together that you have not connected before"- Naval. What are 3-4 things you have been working on connecting lately? Are you open to testing making 100 days in a row of video on X to see what you can learn? x.com/StevenMusielsk…
@naval Happiness is simply the absence of desire, including the desire for happiness
Most times we say: "I will be happy when I have this or that". And when we eventually do get what we wanted, the target is shifted further. Life is more enjoyable when we live in our moments with contentment and sincere gratitude. This doesn't limit ambitions or achievements, it just doesn't tie happiness to them. We are happy regardless.
@naval The best things in my life found me when I stopped looking for them.
@naval most of things in life i found ironic like the person who is more focused on performance rather than outcomes, gets more outcomes anyways. Because outcomes are not linear. Similarly the most calm swordsman wins the fight and many more...
@naval Happiness is internal, but unfortunately everybody searches it outside. We are masters of our mind, we should not lose this power over ourselves.
@naval I gave up giving up as well. Your move, Swami.
@naval Factual and actual It’s also crazy how you can desensitize yet REsensitize yourself to find happiness in simple things such as breathing and feeling alive lol
@naval Once you stop asking who you are and just start taking actions, then you find yourself.
@naval Finding contentment often comes from letting go of the relentless pursuit of happiness and embracing life as it unfolds, with its inherent ups and downs.
@naval Happiness is born out of undeterred faith and wholeheartedly surrendering to it.
@naval Yes coffee all alone in morning is all I need - pure joy and fulfillment everyday 😄❤️🙏
@naval Seeking happiness can be an impediment to happiness, yes. But removing that impediment is not what causes happiness.
@naval Life is rife in contradiction, better embraced than shirked.
@naval Achievement is a never ending cycle. Happiness from achievement is temporary. Better memories are created from process than result.
