National Adoptee Awareness Month (NAAM) is in 16 days. Please remember if you’re not an adoptee, please bring in adoptee perspectives to the conversation and not just adoption agencies or adoptive parents. ALL perspectives need to be added, not the ones that fit your narrative.

Cosette Eisenhauer-Epp, co-founder of the advocacy network @navigatingadopt said many adoptees struggled with feelings of abandonment and missing a piece of their identity and she felt glad children would grow up in their birth culture without “feeling forced to assimilate”.

I have no words right now. All I know is that the foster and adoption community needs to rally with Michael Oher. This right here is the definition of white saviorism. They used Michael Oher and his story for profit.
