(Thread) In the first What If? book, I answered a question about cooking a steak by dropping it from space. At one point, I commented—jokingly!—that if anyone put a steak in a hypersonic wind tunnel to gather better data, I’d love to see the video. Well, I have good news.

This is the first example I've seen of how GPTs could be used to discover literary facts in a corpus of real literature (rather than generate silly poems, etc). Imagine being able to graph the results of these answers across historical corpora of detective stories.

When I wrote an undergraduate thesis, this is how we edited, prior to typing a clean copy. Essential tools: scissors, scotch tape, white out. No Greek on typewriter keyboard, so leave space to add that by hand.
