The pace of deforestation has slowed, but it continues globally. Although many countries are now taking steps to⬆️their forest cover, it is primarily being done through plantations and reforestation, which may not provide the same range of ecosystem services as natural #forests.

47% of 🇿🇼 land area is forested. 42% of the #forests are in communal areas & 5% (800 000 ha) are gazetted/protected forests. Forests contribute to 14 out of 17 #SDGs.
