I've shown several patients where to find repeat ordering on the #NHSApp. Yesterday, I happened to see two of them again. Both can see the prescriptions but get an error code when trying to order them. 1/n
The app can't connect to the clinical system, and the advice is to "contact your GP". I have no way of contacting the NHS App, and no interest in doing so. @NHSEngland are pushing an app which doesn't work, wasting my time and my patients' time trying to use it, 2/n
@NHSEngland ...and when it doesn't work, wasting yet more of both of our time by sending patients to us about the errors. I have no influence whatever over the app, no way of fixing these issues, and if NHSE cared at all about patients' time they'd provide a helpline. 3/n
@NHSEngland Instead, irritated patients get shunted down to my reception to deal with because @NHSDigital keep publishing defective software. The idea this piece of crap is part of the dishonestly-named "recovering access plan" is laughable. 4/n
@NHSEngland @NHSDigital This sort of IT incompetence is rife in the NHS. I read @pepemac27 's thread recently about his monitor adapter - I've done the same thing in practice, and have bought switches and god knows what just to make the hardware and software usable over the years 5/n
