Fond memories from our recording of Holst’s Invocation with Sir Andrew Davis and @BBCPhilharmonic. I remember his natural warmth and humour during the session, which put everyone around him at ease, and feel lucky to have had this experience. Sir Andrew will be missed by so many.
So many happy memories of time over 35 years with Sir Andrew Davis. His laughter was infectious, his music making natural and inspiring, his commitment to new and British music unwavering. So many reasons to mourn his loss but celebrate the joy and privilege of having known him.
So very sad to hear Sir Andrew Davis has died. He was a very special conductor and a joy to work with - an opinion I know I share with all my @BBCSingers colleagues. My generation grew up with him conducting the Last night of @bbcproms. Here’s the year he sang the speech. Hero.

Today on the way home from school my 5 year old was going deep into the realm of science fiction with his inventions. 1) a machine which would allow dead people 1 extra year to live. 2) a machine that could cross any flora with any fauna. His example of this was a ‘leafstick’
