I really wish we just had events in Drupal instead of hooks.

Don't get me wrong, I get Events require more boilerplate code. But @drupalconsole makes that trivial.
@nmdmatt @drupalconsole I think the DX of events has been identified by @catch56 as less than optimal. Perhaps that has changed?
