Happy Holidays! @ebroder, @ccpost, and I are bringing back the #quarantini’s as #adventini’s
Adventini #1 Drink Name: Winter Wonderland Inspiration: Morimoto Asia, bit.ly/3fWDq84
We wanted to start out with something festive and found a recipe in @TandCmag by @chef_morimoto. It wasn’t quite what we wanted so we created our own Winter Wonderland here
Tonight’s #Adventini is the Polar Plunge
The Polar Plunge is from @AviaryCocktails Holiday Cocktail book. Over the course of the Adventinis we’ll be making a lot from the book, if you like it get a copy! theaviarybook.com/holiday-editio…
For this cocktail the color comes from a chocolate vermouth we made. It’s delicious.
A classic Glögg. This is a recipe from the Aviary Holiday Edition. It has a splash of aquavit to kick it up a notch. An excellent drink for a chilly night
Tonight’s #adventini is the Nacho Sandy. It’s all about that holiday beach getaway.
From the Aviary Holiday book it has cilantro tequila, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, lime juice, agave syrup, mezcal, and topped with High Life. Ice cubes are made from Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and a Chile liquor. Rim is crushed hint of lime Doritos
Tonight’s #adventini is a classic hot buttered rum
It’s from @smugglerscovesf. You make a brown sugar spice mix and just mix that with hot water and some Diplomatico
Tonight’s #adventini is a Coquito, from @AviaryCocktails Holiday book.
A coquito is Puerto Rican eggnog. According to this 1977 cookbook it originated to help hide the smell of the moonshine during prohibition
