"No longer made for men” they say. Do they even know who Lady Liadrin is? She’s been in Warcraft lore since TBC. A former priestess who rose as a paladin to lead the Blood Knights. Her leadership was canon long before "wokeism" entered your vocabulary. Micky Neilson even wrote Blood of the Highborne (2013), dedicated to her story and the founding of the Blood Knights.
A woman being powerful in a story doesn’t mean the writers hate men. It just means… women exist too. Always have. We don’t need to erase men and women don’t need to be diminished. I don't hate men by saying this. No gender alone defines humanity. Our existence is interwoven!
@onyxicca It's not even about that. WE have Lor'Themar being the absolute Gigachad he is spitting in the face of the all-ending apocalypse and scofing at their plans. That shit is pure testosterone Box would be proud of this old dog.
@onyxicca Let's not forget the moment she swung on Arthas in the Hearthstone trailer. 👀
@onyxicca People who make those comments just spew the same garbage without even doing research into the focus of their complaints.
@onyxicca I'm more pissed at how they made Liadrin look. I don't even care that she's at the center of this. I'm actually happy, because they've sidelined her since the end of TBC.
@onyxicca So.. when you were among the most influential wow content creators and you start discussing politics and such.. now everything is seen under that lenses. The communities are so easy to be influenced it's scary.. let us just enjoy our game. This was a masterpiece of a cinematic
@onyxicca Lady Liadrin is the most iconic female blood elf ever, not having her would be a crime
@onyxicca That’s not the issue though, nothing wrong with Liadrin, the issue is the focus on female characters. The only female we care about returning is Sylvanas
@onyxicca I was like OOOEEEHHHH LIADRIN!!!!!!!!!! When i saw her in the cinematic!
As someone whose first toon was a blood elf paladin. I’ve always been familiar with Lady Liadrin and I think it’s cool she’s getting a spotlight. I’d ask the haters what makes this different from Jaina getting a spotlight in BFA? Or Sylvanas in shadowlands? But also, why does it matter who the spotlight is on if the story is good? That’s why we play right? The storytelling?
@onyxicca Do you know how she used to look? Smoking hot. Yes, in this trailer she looks like a divorced 50 years Californinan cat lady with addiction to boxed whine and anti depressants. Go fuck yourself, your ilk ruined Warcraft.
@onyxicca It can't be denied, though, that they are focusing too much on female characters. Tell me a good male character they've created since Legion.
@onyxicca fourth consecutive expansion with body type 2 people taking center stage
@onyxicca The only thing I don't like is this awful face they gave to her. That's not Liadrin to me
@onyxicca As a TBC Blood Elf paladin I cheered! She is our leader! Has been for a long time and I hope for a longer time to come!
@onyxicca I'm guessing they mean "Lor'themar was wrong for not praying, and Liadrin saved Silvermoon, so she was right, therefore the game is made for women." But it's silly to say that. Lorthemar is a hunter, she's a paladin. I think they each play their part, and they play it well.
@onyxicca No longer made for men? What do they mean by that? I mean whats with Lor'themar, the grim looking lord-regent? The legion of hooded paladins behind liadrin? What exactly is not made for men?
I think people are so used to girlbosses being injected into everything, especially by Blizzard the last like 4 expacs at least, that they're just sensitive to female leads. The complaints I've been seeing, from men and women, is that they beat Liadrin with the ugly stick for the cinematic, yet she looks incredible in game. Idk what is with the modern gaming industry giving female characters a jaw wide enough to double as a bulldozer, but it's extremely off-putting.
@onyxicca Liadrin is goated and it was awesome getting to see her and some Blood Knight armor in the cinematic. I really hope she plays an actual important role in Midnight and isn't just a nothing side character, but considering how relevant Paladins have been, I feel good about that.
@onyxicca no one have a problem with jaina or sylvannas, this is something else, we don't expect you to understand
@onyxicca Boring, lame, and they made her look like a man.
@onyxicca I stand by my old insistence she should become the canon Ashbringer because she's gone through the journey of faith to darkness to faith again which mirrors the blade. The only argument against it is her just having a cool sword and personal story without it already. She's peak.
@onyxicca I loved seeing Lady Liadrin feature in a cinematic alongside Lorthemar. It's so damn annoying seeing all these braindead non-fans commenting on something they know little to nothing about. They can take their negative, empty-minded opinions elsewhere, and get out of our sandbox.
@onyxicca I really really hope that she is the main NPC this xpac, The first thing I said when I first saw her in the main story when she landed on the island was. "Man..., I wish Liadrin was more important...Blizzard always seem to used her as a background character but she is My fav..."
@onyxicca I thought the animation looked kinda cheap and generic (like generic fantasy game cinematics), but the theme was great. And it definitely wasn't "not made for men", the only cinematic that felt way too soft was the Dragonflight one. And as a Paladin I was always a Liadrin fan.
@onyxicca This isn’t an issue about her being a woman, you’re spinning this to fit some narrative. It’s about her cinematic, she looks nothing like her original concept. She looks, idk more human? I provided an example hope this helps
@onyxicca I love my elves, never felt so good to be an elf player
@onyxicca Yes but this was delivered so fucking weak. I felt no power at all from this. All felt fake some how.
