Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached. They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others. Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further. #UBI doesn’t kill ambition, it frees it.

Trumpistan is dangling a carrot trade deal for the UK if we just abandon any ties with the EU. A reminder. The US had trade deals with Canada & and Mexico, and Trump just tore them up on a whim. The EU has never reneged on a trade deal. They are a more reliable partner.

Under Proportional Representation, if a party wins 25% of the vote, it gets roughly 25% of the seats. Under First Past the Post, it could translate to 50% of all seats, or 5%, or pretty much any other number. ...But people still keep telling us that PR is "too complicated".

This is a very valid point. If people no longer qualify for PIP, their carers will no longer receive Carers' Allowance. This could be an extremely expensive mistake for Reeves and Starmer.

People complaining about the Motability scheme because the cars are 'too new' or 'too nice' or 'too big' are WILD. Yes, someone who has mobility issues needs a car that is both good AND big, because it's imperative it doesn't break down AND mobility aids need to fit in it.

The British public refuse to accept that it's cheaper to provide welfare than withdraw it. Fewer benefits result in increased crime and poorer public health, requiring increased resources for the police and NHS. Prevention is cheaper than the cure, it's that fucking simple.

Seems like a good time to point out that the official fraud rate for PIP (the disability benefit) in 2024 was ZERO!! PIP has the lowest fraud rate of any benefit. So... why are Labour trying to push more disabled people off PIP???!!!

#PIP Personal Independence Payments are for a disabled person’s care & mobility needs. Not to determine if a disabled person can work or not. Many disabled people who are working are in receipt of PIP for care and mobility needs It’s important to stress this.

The outright anger around benefits is truly wild… Almost everyone alive in the UK right now will either be claiming benefits, or will claim benefits at some point in their life. If not during your “working” life… definitely in retirement. That’s not a bad thing, just a fact.
