If you commit suicide because you can’t bear the shame and struggle of being at rock bottom in a first world country, you’re weak but it’s your life If you commit suicide and leave behind a wife and child, it’s not just your life and you’re a piece of shit
@palis Idk man, had a really close friend blow his head off in his basement while his wife and kids were asleep upstairs Not once I have I thought he was a piece of shit Weird take
@palis Damn did that 4500x guy die from suicide?
@palis someone who does something like that isnt in the frame of mind to logically think about these things. its much deeper than this
@palis I think it s helpful to think of suicide as being like standing inside a tall burning building. It’s not that the person would ever want to jump. But the fire leads them to the only choice they believe they can. Shaming people that lose to such a tragedy is kinda awful
@palis Went on a date last night with a girl who’s husband did it 8 yr ago She still can’t get past it
@palis I feel like there is so much suicide this cycle. In crypto and outside of it for some reason. It’s never been like this before
@palis Bottom line People who do this never deserved wealth or prosperity to begin with
@palis Proper take, clearly shows the character. While comments show an average western softy’s lack of one. Never in history has it been so easy to live well, yet never has a man carried so little will to live. What a paradox.
@palis This is fact, but it upsets people who can’t handle the truth. Like most people, I’ve lost friends to them unaliving themselves and it doesn’t change what it is - the most selfish act imaginable.
@palis hot take: if u think suicide is unethical u have never been at true rock bottom
@palis solution, just move to a third world country like me geoarbitrage would solve most men's depression
@palis It's one of those things where it's very easy to judge if you're not the person experiencing whatever they were experiencing that drove them to it
What if a person had never known love, not even in their youth and had always hated life, yet still tried to stay positive? Someone who kept pushing to experience life in the best way possible, fighting to escape the downward spiral, even becoming obsessed with trying to love life. They studied and learned the basics of the universe and the human brain, searching for answers: why are we here? How do we play this game? But life kept forcing them into a never-ending loop of negativity, dragging them deeper into the spiral, until they began to believe they were cursed. I believe most people who committed suicide had tried many times before. Along the way, they often became more reflective, questioning life, studying themselves, even becoming more insightful than most. But their struggle was never truly a problem of logic. It was a problem of emotion, or of their environment.
These takes are exactly why male suicide rates are far higher than female. Leaving behind a "wife and child" etc etc. While most marriages end in divorce where more often than not the husband is the one "divorced" and left behind. Its remnants of a bygone era where everything is put onto the man to toughen up and bear the weight of everything, except without any recognition for that this time around. Suicide isn't new, nor does is it means specific, otherwise no one with funds would commit it. Lastly, their gone, so judging them after the fact if anything proves their point that the world itself was cruel in the first place. "Survival" is the most primal instinct a human being has, so for a person to reach the stage where they remove that instinct from their actions is far beyond simple words and rhetoric.
@palis I had this happen to a friend who "gave up" during the pandemic. I was shocked that he would do this being the single parent to his kid. But I guess he thought that the kid would be better off without him (not true).
