Powell's speech seems very dovish to me, but as many others have noted, inflation is now more in the hands of Congress than the Fed. Powell seems like an upstanding guy but has been a poor Fed chair IMO.

I’m checking my peaches daily. They look great but are concealed by foliage and hard to photograph. I suppose part of the reason they’re in such good shape is due to the fact that the birds and rodents have trouble spotting them.

Photo of the interior of my larger peach tree planted last fall. I removed all but four of its peaches earlier to encourage more vegetative growth. You can also see I recently grafted some greengage plum scions, one of which is emerging.

Related to prior post: when does the NIMBY movement start for data centers? I just find the political victory laps for building them to be so cringe. Some big boring box that employs a handful of people is now going to be consuming a lot of your local resources.
