@sarahforpdx @Scott_Kocher @briandavispdx Yup, I risk my life EVERY DAY biking to the waterfront from SW 1st & Harrison. CCIM cannot happen *quickly* enough. That (literally fatal on Wednesday) intersection of Naito & Harrison will apparently be safer soon, along with Naito north to Waterfront Park. @PBOTinfo

@yesimabot Enforcement is needed and yet so sticky: we've clearly demonstrated racial bias and regressive outcomes in policing and criminal justice, so the question becomes how do we slow motorists without further disadvantaging already disadvantaged Portlanders to achieve #VisionZero?

This woman's death is sad. It's also sad that any motor vehicle can achieve deadly speeds in our downtown, esp on a street like Naito which should be a promenade, not a highway. This is a failure of city planning & infrastructure, not any single motorist.

Fatality number 11 yesterday. On Naito Parkway, single vehicle crash, no real info despite three updates other than the name. If it were a pedestrian we'd probably be told they crossed against the light, were wearing black, etc.

I don't understand: the pedestrian was wearing hi-vis, making eye-contact, and not touching their phone - yet 54 drivers apparently didn't notice them in the crosswalk? It's almost exactly like NONE OF THAT SHIT ACTUALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
