The proof of concept which took place during Ex Trident Fury 25 went very well. As part of this, an airborne UAS platform allowed for threat target identification and was used to guide the drone boat (Mako) intercept on the threat vessel closing the warship at a distance.

Seaspan has signed an MoU with @AlgomaSteelInc & Stigterstaal Canada to explore a strategic partnership aimed at reestablishing a domestic steel supply chain focused on bolstering & expanding shipbuilding in Canada🍁

90% of the issues in the report aren't even tied to the aircraft itself but more in our own failures, infrastructure, and changing situations.
All issues that basically any other aircraft of this scale would have. You're misreading the finding entirely if you focus on the plane.
Auditor General report on the F35 is out today and the picture is less than satisfactory. As always I highly recommend going through the report yourself.
I will be doing a substack later today on this, but here are the basics

🧵 Monday Announcement Thread🧵
I'll be posting everything related to today here. Bookmark this page as it looks like we'll be in for a busy few hours. I don't want to do separate threads for everything, so we will be doing it all here.
Feel free to Town Hall this!
This is the SX121. She is a 130m long Subsea support vessel. She features 1700m² of deck space, two seperate moon pools, and several cranes including one with a 400t capacity and two 12t cranes for launch and recovery of ROV.
In 1961 Rear-Admiral Jeffry ‘Brimstone’ Brock was tasked by then Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Herbert Rayner with creating a report to "undertake a careful reexamination of Naval Objectives to determine whether existing activities and future plans were adequate.”
Hanwha has a vested interest in Camada that has been well established. One of the fun things about all the sovereignty stuff, and the 2% plans, is that companies now have a vested interest in our needs, as they know money and backing is on the table.

It's been a while since I've done a more carefree opinion piece. My last one on production was a bit to serious, so let's relax a bit and talk about some gaps! (in my opinion)
One big concern I have is the potential gap that might exist between the AOPS and CMMC. While we don't know exactly what CMMC might end up being, the desire for a combatant to replace the Kingstons will leave us having to make some difficult choices on where to allocate assets.

🇨🇦 The Government has amended this RFI, removing the requirement for the ability to engage indirect targets on the move.
RCH 155 will now have to compete against Archer, SIGMA, CAESAR, etc.
Exact wording change is:

Defence minister Bill Blair, on CBC, just said the government and DND are examining whether they will acquire all 88 F-35 fighter jets on order, or whether “other investments” might be better for Canada. “We are being compelled to look at options.” Wow.
🇨🇦 Irving Shipbuilding has been awarded a $5.57 billion contract for the Royal Canadian Navy’s new River-class destroyers.
Details linked below @ArchivesDefense. ⬇️
There is a possibility that Canada - UK - Norway will soon share a common hull in the Type 26.
We also all will use the F-35, P8, and technically the A330
The UK and Canada also share a common XLUUV in Cellula Robotics Guardian AUV.
And there’s much more possibilities
Today, the Canadian government announced the contract award to local shipbuilder Irving Shipbuilding Inc. for the construction of the River-class destroyers (previously known as Canadian Surface Combatants or CSC) for the Royal Canadian Navy 🇨🇦
