Back in the day if you asked the question: "Which party conference gets the most weirdos?" I guess it would have been the Liberals in the 1960s, the Ecology Party in the 1970s, and UKIP in the 2000s. Now it's Labour and the Conservatives.

Watching the children from downstairs (aged 10 and 5) heading back to school this morning. What a miserable day's weather to coincide! Felt rather sorry for them (the school is about a mile's walk).

It's actually quite misleading to say that "UK borrowing costs hit 27-year high" because that headline interest rate is secondary market stuff. Newly issued 10-year gilts are relatively stable since spring statement (albeit at a relatively high level for 2020s).

I must say that I liked very much the Vegas Uncovered description of the Luxor: "An Egyptian-themed Motel 6 with janky elevators and a food court that screams “layover in Denver”." Camelot-themed Excalibur was heading that way 20 years go, and it's still there!
