Graphite felt figures update $eose So because I don’t have a life I spent last night drawing out the cell and scaling from images to work out a closer figure for felt weight per kWh The felt area is 290-294 wide by 118-122 high, this gives a per divider area 0.0349m2 After discussion with @FreemyerGreg yesterday we confirmed 20 pieces of felt per cell so 0.697m2 of felt per cell With weight of 840g/m2 that’s 0.59kg per cell, each cell being 1.2kWh that’s 0.49kg/kWh Assuming 8% waste, could be lower if felt roll width is optimised but feel this is a fair assumption? That gives 0.53kg/kWh So for 10,000kg / 0.53=18,867 cells 18,867 / 674 =27.993 say 28 cubes so quite a bit more than my assumptions yesterday Given 61 tonnes delivered in the last month that’s enough for 170 cubes
Haven’t been able to find the Z3 divider patents, don’t believe they are published yet, so this is as close to it as can find, this is from the Z2.3 patent and describes the composition of a divider Think the Z3 has simplified this a bit
Just noticed this image on the website, I’m very confident in the width dimension as there’s lots of reference points to measure from but this image allowed me to confirm the width to height So very confident my original figures are very close I’d go for 120 x 290 now
@philroberts From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for not having a life 😂
@philroberts So in the last month they’ve taken delivery of enough felt for ~$34m revenue?
@philroberts Nice work Phil. I was hoping to do the same with all the new information, but my day went absolutely tits up. Minor, but it's 672 cells per cube, not 674.
@philroberts Based on your earlier math, made this chart, though it doesn’t scale that high!
@philroberts Thanks to you and others who work on these metrics. It really provides confidence that the ramp is … ramping!
@philroberts Great work Phil. How many cubes does the 2gwh per line equate to?
@philroberts You deserve a Batt-X cult badge of good service. 🙏🏼
@philroberts And then we find out that Joe found a paper mill in the US that can make the felt for them and over seas supply is only half of what they ordered. 😂
@philroberts Thank you for taking your time to do this and sharing it with us
@philroberts I’m glad you don’t have “a life” . Keep up the good work .
@philroberts I did the same thing last night and came up with very rudimentary numbers of 6.5x16 inches (165x406mm)
