New #businessrates multipliers to be introduced from 2026 for retail properties and a new multiplier for higher value properties

The main manifestos on #businessrates Conservatives - Increase multiplier for distribution warehouses Labour - Replace rates with property tax that raises the same income LibDem - Replace rates with Land Value Tax Reform - Abolish rates for small/medium high street firms
Some other #businessrates changes in the #springbudget. Empty Property Relief “reset period” will change. A property will need to have been occupied for 13 weeks before empty relief can be claimed (currently 6 wks). Govt will also consult on a General Anti-Avoidance Rule @PwC_UK
New #businessrates relief for Film Studios in #springbudget should help with the increase in Rateable Values in 2023, but will the relief be restricted by Subsidy Rules? @PwC_UK
Business rates are frozen for smaller businesses but many will be paying more from April 2024 pwc.to/3GbJ0kV
As expected the 75% retail hospitality and leisure relief for #businessrates will be extended for another year. #autumnstatement2023
The 6.7% increase to the #BusinessRates multiplier in April 24 will go ahead, but only for larger properties. Properties under £51,000 Rateable Value will have their multipler frozen for another year #AutumnStatement
